Infant Carriers

North Carolina law requires that your newborn be transported in an infant car seat. If you do not have a car seat in which to transport your baby from the hospital to your home, please talk to your nurse. Learn more about car seat regulations in North Carolina.

Fire Drills

For your protection, the hospital conducts fire and disaster drills regularly. If a drill occurs while you are here, please remain in your room and do not become alarmed. The hospital is a fire-resistant building, and the staff is trained in fire protection.

No Smoking

The campus of UNC Health Rockingham is smoke-free. No one is allowed to smoke, vape, or use any tobacco products on campus. Learn more about how to quit smoking.

Maintenance

If equipment in your room (television, toilet, bed, etc.) needs repair, you may contact the maintenance department at extension 171-2274 or tell your nurse.

Safety Concerns

If you or your family have any safety or security concerns while inside the hospital, please phone the Director of Security at 336-627-9711 ext. 171-2816 or 171-2324.

As part of our commitment to ensuring UNC Health Rockingham provides a safe workplace and a healing environment, weapons detection systems are currently utilized at the entrance to our emergency department and after-hours entrance. All patients, visitors, and non-credentialed vendors will be screened upon entry.

Valuables

Do not keep checks, credit cards, jewelry or cash with you. If you brought any valuables to the hospital, please ask a family member to take them home or you may request your nurse put them in a secured valuables locker. The hospital is not responsible for any patient or visitor belongings.
