Thank a Caregiver
Thank a Nurse
The DAISY Award
WHAT: An ongoing recognition program honoring the skillful and compassionate care nurses provide.
WHY: DAISY was started by the family of J. Patrick Barnes who died of complications of ITP in 1999. Their deep appreciation for the skill and compassion shown to Pat and his family by his nurses prompted them to start the DAISY Award program to show appreciation to nurses in a meaningful and special way.
HOW: Honorees are recommended by patients, families and colleagues and are chosen by a committee at UNC Rockingham Health Care.
DAISY Award recipients receive a certificate, DAISY award pin, and a hand-carved sculpture. Awards are given quarterly, and the recipient’s nominator is invited to attend the presentation.

The BEE Award

HOW: Honorees are recommended by patients, families, colleagues, and chosen by a committee at UNC Rockingham Health Care.
