UNC Health Rockingham has served Rockingham County for generations, growing alongside the community while remaining focused on one central promise: providing high-quality care close to home. Today, the nonprofit, 108-bed community hospital in Eden combines the personal relationships and local commitment of a hometown hospital with the expertise, resources and support of UNC Health. Its services span every stage of life, from maternity and emergency care to rehabilitation, cancer treatment and long-term care, while continued investments in people, technology and facilities strengthen the hospital for the future.
Key Services and Capabilities
- A welcoming Birthing Center that allows families to labor, deliver, recover and begin life together close to home in comfortable labor-delivery-recovery-postpartum suites
- UNC Cancer Care at Rockingham, a service of UNC Hospitals, bringing patient-centered cancer treatment into the community while connecting patients with the expertise and resources of the broader UNC Health cancer network
- A Wound Healing Center that provides specialized treatment for complex or difficult-to-heal wounds, helping patients recover while staying connected to their local support systems
- An Occupational Health Center that partners with local employers to strengthen workforce health through wellness services, injury care and workers’ compensation management
- Around-the-clock emergency care, inpatient medical-surgical services and intensive care for patients who need immediate evaluation, hospital admission or a higher level of monitoring close to home
- A broad range of surgical and procedural care supported by anesthesia, nursing and diagnostic services, helping patients receive needed treatment and follow-up in their community
- Heart and vascular care through UNC Cardiology at Eden, including evaluation and management of coronary artery disease, heart valve disease, atrial fibrillation and peripheral vascular disease, along with stress testing, echocardiography, ambulatory monitoring, nuclear cardiology, coronary CT angiography and vascular studies
- Diagnostic imaging services that include CT, MRI, X-ray, ultrasound, vascular imaging, digital mammography and stereotactic breast biopsy procedures, with additional outpatient access through the UNC Rockingham Wright Imaging Center
- Inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services, including physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech-language therapy, as well as specialized care for balance and vestibular conditions, pelvic health, lymphedema and mobility or functional needs after illness, injury or surgery
- Women’s health services extending beyond childbirth to support preventive care, breast imaging and coordinated care through local providers and the broader UNC Health network
- Laboratory, respiratory therapy, pharmacy and other clinical support services that help physicians diagnose conditions, guide treatment and coordinate care across inpatient and outpatient settings
- Access to primary and specialty care across the community, strengthened by coordination with UNC Health specialists when patients need services beyond those available locally
- The 121-bed UNC Rockingham Rehabilitation and Nursing Care Center, extending the hospital’s continuum of care through short-term rehabilitation and skilled nursing services on the Eden campus
- Community-based health initiatives, including Rockingham County Student Health Centers, that expand access to preventive, primary and behavioral health services and reflect the hospital’s commitment to improving health beyond its walls
